In 2025, Europe’s community pharmacies continued to demonstrate their essential role in strengthening health systems, improving patient access to care, and supporting public health resilience.
From tackling persistent medicine shortages and advancing the Critical Medicines Act, to expanding pharmacy services such as vaccination, screening and medicines optimisation, PGEU has worked to ensure that community pharmacists are fully recognised and integrated into primary healthcare across Europe.
With over 500,000 community pharmacists serving millions of citizens every day, Europe’s pharmacy network remains one of the most accessible and trusted pillars of healthcare.
